JajpurΒ is a historic place of pilgrimage is located at a distance of 92Kms from Cuttack. Once upon a time Jajpur was the capital of Kalinga kingdom and had achieved the pinnacle of glory in archeological excellence. Jajpur is honoured for its natural resources, mines and industries. Situated on the bank of river Baitarani it has the sacred shrine of Goddess Biraja (Durga), Sveta Baraha (incarnation of Lord Vishnu as the white boar), Sapta Matruka and a host of other shrines. Adjacent to this Ghata is famous SAPTAMATRUKA temple,SIDHA VINAYAK temple, JAGANNATH temple, SAVITRI temple,MAA LAXMI temple and SIVHA temple. So this place is a holly place for all Hindu's. Every twelve year the BARUNI SNANA is heald. The history of this place is that king Jajati Kheshori make a huge JAGYA on the same place . So the name of Jajapur comes from this word.

Good environment, but the ghat was untidy, old clothes, hair that was cut was laying everywere, the committee members should take care of the ghat.

Jay sri Jagannath ?. This place is peaceful. Lord Jagannath , Balabhadra, maa Subhadra with Maa Laxmi is worshipped here. River views are awesome. If you visit Jajpur town then you must visit this place. Priests are good.
