The working result of the Karakhana is one of the best in the country for which factory has been Awarded first prize by National Federation of Co-operative sugar factory ltd. New Delhi over the period of consecutive 7 years for excellent technical performance. The factory has also be awarded first prize and commendation certificate by Government of India Ministry of Food for the year 1987-88 and 1988-89 for the same performance.

Shirol is situated in the industrial backward area of the Kolhapur district near village Shirol and is the first co operative sugar factory in the state to go in to production amongst the 12 ton temporary licenses in the year 1969. The sugar project of 1250 TCD was implemented within a Short span of about 22 month and trial crushing season has been taken on the day of VARSHA PRATIPADA 16 March 1972. To attain the economical viability the expansion from 1250 TCD to 2000 TCD has been under taken and had been completed at the record time of five months and crushing operations with the expanded capacity commenced in the year 1980-81.

Some factory property is also used in various marathi old movies.
