About Delek Hospital
Tsewang Rinchen Rishing was born in the Gyal Tsekyi-Khar region of Tibet.
Following in the footsteps of the Tibetan exodus from Communist China’s invasion of Tibet, Rishing sought refuge in Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim in 1962.
Eventually arriving in Dharamsala Mr. Rishing was twice appointed a Community Leader and became a member of the Third and Fourth Tibetan People’s Deputies in Dharamsala for two terms of three years.Following his close observation of the absence of any medical facilities, and the dire need for one among Tibetan refugees, Mr. Rishing presented a proposal to His Holiness the Dalai Lama for a modest plot of land with a small room or two for the purpose of an allopathic clinic. The proposal was well received by His Holiness with a suggestion that Mr. Rishing planned a much larger project, and the idea of an allopathic Hospital was born.Between the foundation stone being laid and completion of the construction, Mr. Rishing’s project was challenged by continued financial hurdles forcing him, at one stage, to leave his wife’s prized traditional Tibetan jewellery as collateral for loans. (Fortunately in time it was redeemed!) Finally, on the 4th October, 1971, the Tibetan Delek Hospital was officially named and inaugurated by His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama, Patron of this first Tibetan allopathic hospital. Mr. Rishing administered the Hospital until the end of 1978, after which the Institution was handed over to the Tibetan Government in Exile, to be administered by the Department of Health.On January 3, 1982, Tsewang Rinchen Rishing passed away at the age of 63. Today, we pay tribute to the man who saw a need in our community and committed himself to fulfilling that need. The vision of the founder is celebrated each year on Founder’s Day in his honor.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hi I can see many good respons so..I went there on the 14july I went to the registered place that they call pharmncy and then I needed to Whit in the line that was,not rellay exist people just go in and out and for 3 time we nedded to go up and down to see a doctor at the end I went in to talk to the doctor and share my problem the doctor was anxious to me and when I told him that I got bite by something the doctor check in,Wikipedia on his phone about it and he say you OK don't worry he even didn't look on me I was,socked..mm also there was lost dogs inside the hospetl

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I saw an Angel there. How can a nurse can act like a mother. During my stay in Bhandai Nag, I felt some uncomfortability and call to Delek Hospital with the help of Google, the responding time was Zero seconds and the Nurse asked all necessary questions and checked if I can reach hospital by my own. My friends take me to there and she was alone in that hospital and open the doors And checked BP etc. and within few minutes Doctors arrived and I still remember her soothing words during my difficult times. I wonder how come a Young lady can so mature and compassionate and fearless, then the Doctor come and he is also behave like a friend and spent time with me for 30 minutes and said you are perfectly ok, it is the fever and some anxiety make me restlessness. I wonder again that how can a doctor is so friendly and travel few kilometres for a patient at 3 AM and do not show any annoyance. Then we again reached the Nurse with the prescription and she give me medicine and perfectly answer all my kid like questions and cool me down very patiently... my final wonder is the Emergency Charges..... it was Rs. 50 including medicine. I still can’t believe it.
I visited there on 29-09-2018, I would definitely love to know the name the ANGEL working there. The world is still existing because of these peoples, thanks to Hospital Management to digging out the Precious Diamonds and place them for serving peoples

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I went here with some of my friends after they got hurt. We didn't have any problems. The doctors and staff were friendly and helpful and the whole process was relatively straight-forward even for foreigners. My one suggestion is that if you show up before they open, look for a makeshift paper list on the window to the right as you walk in (where the receptionist would be). People who arrive early sometimes put their names down on this list instead of standing in line.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice nurses and doctor!! Had a high fever and food poisoning, got treated straight away, already feeling much better after dripping. Very reasonable price. Highly recommended if you are sick (touch wood:p)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good hospital, come in, register at reception: 10rps, wait for doctor. Tip: watch who is before you and don’t just wait to be called in, people skip the queue all the time. Be assertive but respectful and hold your spot. English speaking doctors, and helpful staff. If you need to test your blood or urine, go to registration downstairs, pay for your tests, pee and go to room 2 (the laboratory) to present yourself. After that back to the doctor.
