About Delhi Metropolitan Education
Delhi Metropolitan Education is committed to the “Zero Waste” policy. As part of this commitment, the institute has adopted various initiatives to reduce environmental impact. The DME community is sensitized to adopt the ‘reduce, reuse, recycle, recover’ maxim and contribute towards making the campus environment friendly.
Solid Waste Management
To reduce waste at the institute, students and staff are educated on proper waste management practices through lectures, advertisements on notice boards, and displaying slogan boards on the campus. Waste is collected on a daily basis from various sources and is separated as dry and wet waste. Efforts have been made to segregate solid and liquid waste. Daily garbage is collected from the dustbins at DME and is handed over to the authorities for further processing.
Liquid Waste Management
There are two types of Liquid waste generated within the campus, liquid waste from the pantry and sewage from the toilets. Separate chambers and pipelines have been constructed to collect liquid waste and sewage waste. These are disposed of at the municipal sewage treatment plants.
E-waste Management
The e-waste includes a wide range of electronic and electrical items such as computers, printers, keyboards, etc. The institute takes efforts to minimize e-waste by repairing the computer and electronic components. Other than that, the e-waste is collected and stored in the storeroom. The e-waste which cannot be reused or recycled is being disposed off centrally through certified eco-friendly vendors. Any damages or reductions in capacity are set right by repairs. In addition, the institution has emphasised minimum paper usage to save carbon emission in printers.

There are three sections for each batch and classroom have smart board to make the concept clear and understandable. Library consists of all the books, bare acts, magazines, newspaper. Computer labs and medical room is also there. Auditorium in the name of Nelson Mandela is also there where all the guest lectures, competition, the annual functions takes place. Canteen and campus surrounding is very hygienic.
