The idea of rural food served with rural style gets fulfilled here. The place is all about the rural style in which the food is served and the ambience in which it is served. The place offers food at very reasonable prices, also it is served in traditional rural styling. I tried their special chicken thali, the spices in the chicken was very evidently complementing the whole dish. The chicken was soft and well cooked. The thali came with rice, chapati or bhakri, gravy, sukha chicken. I also tried the chicken waradi, which is a must try for the people who love spicy food, the flavour will hit you at the very forst bite. The gravy is thick and served in a matka. The chicken bhuna was equally good, it had a mild taste but the flavours turned out to be really good. Loved the place overall, its a must visit to try some authentic rural experience.

Best place resembles our village life which was best part we could not have in metropolitan city like pune. But the ambiance of restaurant is super cool ? and everything each detail things they use in restaurant give feel of our village our native place. They have taken best care of our hygiene too. I should say one should visit must here when he/she is in AKURDI.

Khandeshi CuisineΒ is as much about kala masala as that unmistakable layer of floating oil 'Tarri' as they called it inΒ Khandesh. TheΒ Khandeshi Meals usually are spicy and earthy.Β Khandeshis use mainly Peanut oil, dry coconut and dark tiny lavangi chillies in their cooking. Akurdi, Pune has this hidden gem to have typical Khandeshi food since last three years. This place is always crowdy because of the amazing food it serves. I've tried some of the Best Khandeshi Thalis and Food dishes. Here are some of my favourite ones. 1. Chicken kalimirch 2. Chicken kum dhaniya 3. Mutton warhadi 4. Khandeshi thali 5. Bharit thali 6. Soya chhap 7. Chicken Malai kabab 8. Goti soda 9. Rabadi milk shake 10. Lassi 11. Masala butter milk This place is a must visit when in Akurdi.

Traditional food is always on our mind & no matter where we go we crave for it sometimes out of the bloom. Deshi katta is one of the few places in Akurdi that specializes in serving North Maharashtrian - Khandeshi and Warhadi food. It is special because of the kind of masala they use in making the dishes. I absolutely loved the masala and all the dishes I tried. This is really rare to get in the kind of city we live in, I'll definitely say it's a gem that we have in Akurdi. What I have tried - Starters- Soya chhap Chicken Malai kabab Both I loved a lot!!! The chicken - perfectly cooked!! Not too spicy not too blunt. Main Course- Chicken kalimirch, Chicken kum dhaniya, Mutton warhadi, Khandeshi thali, Bharit thali Well what do I say about them, I personally loved every dish, no complaints at all. The chicken was nicely cooked and juicy just the way I like it, so was the mutton. Mutton warhadi is heavenly good. The masala used, i dont know the ingredients but was top notch!!! We non vegetarians when we have non veg on table we don't dare have anything veg but this Bharit thali is a though one i would say! Bharit - too yummm.... And the gatte ki Sabji that comes along with it is really really lip smacking good ( trust me I did?) Beverages- Goti soda Rabadi milk shake Lassi Masala butter milk, Their lassi is very thick and appropriate in sweetness. The Rabadi milk shake sounds very heavy but its not very light to have it as a desert shake!! Overall I loved the place and the service is fair as well. So I'll DEFINITELY RECOMMEND you guys to visit!

Deshi Katta - the name itself determines its uniqueness. Located on one of the busiest streets of Akurdi, deshi Katta is committed to offer the authentic Maharashtrian recepies, collected from the regions of Maharashtra. Khandeshi cuisine is one of their specialities here, which hugely based on the mix of kala masala. It is often spicy & earthy, but here at Deshi Katta the food wasn't too spicy, which is good. Generally, spiciness associated with abundance of chilli, which becomes beyond bearable. But this place didn't serve anything like that, & hence their can be tasted by people of all the age groups. This place also offers some amazing North Indian food. I, along with my friends, tasted some of their signature thalis & dishes. But before I had Lassi. I have to mention this - it was a proper Lassi - thick & balanced sweetness. Just the way it should be. We tried Mutton Warhadi, Bharit thali (Baingan bharta), Chicken Kalimirch, Chicken kum dhaniya, Khandeshi thali. Everything tasted so good & authenticated. It was great both in quantity & quality. In the Kebab,we had their Chicken Malai kebab, which was amazing. We also had their signature Goti Soda & it was as strong as anything. This place can host decent amount of people simultaneously - not too big or too small. The place will surely offer you desi vibes. The food is served in earthenware & plates stitched with leaves are used as plates. The service here was on point. And the major part - prices are really moderate. I haven't seen a lot of places which serves this kind of quality food in these kind of price bracket. It's totally value for money. I would definitely recommend this place to visit.

This hidden gem in Akurdi is a very nice and cosy place to dine! They repertoire some desi authentic food in their menu. I am always thrilled to explore Maharashtrian cusine and this place just raised the level. We had a lot on our table .. Chicken kalimirch (4/5 ) Chicken kum dhaniya (5/5) Mutton warhadi (5/5) Khandeshi thali (5/5) Bharit thali (5/5) Soya chaap (5/5) Chicken Malai kabab (5/5) Goti soda (4/5) Rabadi milk shake (4/5) Lassi (5/5) Masala butter milk (5/5) Yeah i loved it that much! Everything was top notch , the quality and quantity of food is too good . The pricing is moderate and they serve their food in plates made of dried leaves which adds to the desi feel. My favourite was the malai chicken kebab and chicken kum dhaniya. Lassi was thick and just how its supposed to be! Thalis are loaded and i bet it would be a challenge to finish it all . Do try this place out for some desi authentic food. Check my blog on Instagram @whatscookinginindia for more

In mood of something desi and down right delicious you should definitely visit deshi katta. The restaurant is spread on two floors. The seating is really cozy and comfortable. We had ordered Chicken 65, Chicken tandoori and Soya Chili. The Soya Chili was unexpectedly tasty and crispy. I loved it. Tandoori was well seasoned Chicken 65 tasted good but did not have enough curry leaves. In the main course we had Chicken Warhadi, Shev bhaaji and Anda masala. The shev bhaaji is addictively delicious with the perfect amount of spice. Chicken warhadi was unlike anything I had ever had. Gravy had a very distinct taste because of the masala and chicken was cooked perfectly. Anda masala was equally good in taste but i liked the chicken more. They serve homely bhakris. We had their Jwari bhakri and Kalne bhakri. Kalne bhakri which is a staple for khandesh region. Overall really loved the place because it serves very authentic Maharashtrian food. Do visit this place if you are looking for all desi meal. They also have options in oriental cusine if you'd like to try.
