Great significance to buddhists since Buddha gave his 1st sermon and accepted 5 disciples in the Deer Park. Before we reached Deer Park, we visited a buddhist temple. The Theravada monk blessed each of us by placing Buddha's sharira on our heads. That was a great honour. In the Deer Park, we strolled through and sdmired what it was lije in Buddha's time. These monuments were extensively plundered for building materials and have been lying in ruins since then, until Angarik Dharampal – a Srilankan Buddhist disciple restored the ruins and revived Sarnath’s importance in the world. .
