★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place for birders. Especially during the months of Nov-Feb, when migratory birds like the Bar-headed geese arrive. The many waterbodies near the Dighal Toll plaza is home to over 100 species. The village also has sugarcane processing units and a monument to Soldiers, apart from a couple of temples.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were here on Big Bird Day. The locals thought we were builders and had come to survey the area. They seemed eager to sell off and destroy a precious wetland. Sadly, there is no one there to educate them and make them aware of the non-monetary riches they are surrounded by. When I spoke to some locals they seemed totally unaware of the huge variety of birds around. At the end of the day our team spotted more than 230 species of birds.
