★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Today, one day National seminar on “Population & Laws” was organised by the Department of Laws in collaboration with Population Research Centre, Panjab University, Chandigarh. The Chairperson of Deptt of Laws, Professor Davinder Singh and Prof (Dr) Kurnool Abbi, Director, Population Research Centre, started with welcoming notes and highlighted theme of seminar, talked about various facets of Population, migration, and its challanges in contemporary situations, he also bestowed upon the token of appreciation to Guest of Honour Prof. Dr. Anju Suri, former Chairperson of History, Panjab University, Chandigarh, Chief Guest and Speaker Prof.(Dr) Usha Tandon, Dean and Head of Faculty of Laws, Delhi University. Special guest, Mr. Manmohan Sharma, Executive Secretary, Indian Association of Parliamentarian on Population and Development, New Delhi. All the guests were at par excellence in their own area of expertise. However, Professor (Dr) Usha Tandon enlightened the audience with current trends of population in India, its issues, challenges, how it could be sorts out with the help of laws. It was wonderful experience and felt privileged to there in the seminar. Professor (Dr) Supinder Kaur was also present there to coordinate the seminar.
