★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had visited this doctor for IBS. He was very polite, but did not have much knowledge on GI microbiome, and latest research in IBS. When I asked about GI bacteria, he said stomach has only H Pylori bacteria. I have read many research publications on IBS on Pubmed, and all papers show the microbiome has 500-1000 species, billions of strains, approx 30-40 Trillion bacteria. A simple science paper will show that the stomach contains acidic bacteria genus like Streptococcus, Enterococcus,etc that thrive in low pH environment like stomach acid. He was very patient, kind but not very knowledgeable in this area. He could straightaway be honest and say he doesn't specialise in this.
