β β β β β The library connects us with the insight and knowledge, painfully extracted from Nature, of the greatest minds that ever were, with the best teachers, drawn from the entire planet and from all our history, to instruct us without tiring, and to inspire us to make our own contribution to the collective knowledge of the human species. I think the health of our civilization, the depth of our awareness about the underpinnings of our culture and our concern for the future can all be tested by how well we support our libraries.
Towering above all academic complexes in university serene element, sitting on the confluences of the premises of school building is our great and time-honored central library. Its ground floor has a geographical spread of approx. 50000 Sq. ft. and the column of nine-storey building has a floor stretching itself in 6000 Sq. ft. The library is one of the largest repositories of books in the country shelving 5 lakh books and more than 50000 volumes.
It is adding 10000 books on an average per year through the agency of suggestions from faculties and students from different disciplines. It keeps on replicating the volumes of books as per requirements.
The Library also subscribes around 1000 journals, around 1000 serial the real Mc-coy, to quench the thirst of knowledge of its contemporary research scholars from international and national arena. Besides fertilizing the talents of university through physical study materials, it provides the virtual study material in the form of floppy, CD-ROM of books and internet.

A largest space covered Social Sciences subjects,
Sitting facilities are here 24x7, Book issuing and deposits timing is 9am to 7pm.
Canteen is also behind this library.

β β β β β Central Library of JNU. A nine storey building. Best place to study at your spare times. Study environment is really good. Library provides you books from different subjects and streams. One can issue definite number of books for definite number of days. Library also has a computer library with internet facility. Library's main building allows you take your electronics, like laptop, tab and mobile inside, but not the books. Although you can take the photocopies of the books and notebooks. Additionally, there are separate reading halls (air conditioned and non-air conditioned both), which allows you to take your books also. Only students, staffs and teachers are allowed. Have a depth and peaceful reading.

β β β β β One of the gems of Indian academia. Huge collections of books on every topic. A dedicated archive section is also there. You can get novels, fiction and nonfiction books also. The large reading halls are also very useful. The computer library is okay. Overall nice place.

Full Wi-Fi and Air Conditioner, four reading Hall open for 18 hours..!!

There are multiple reading rooms with 1 computer room in the ground floor ... all most all the time filled with Students.
1-4th floor is basically the achive for different different fields .
