Dr.Boman N Dhabhar - BND ONCO CENTER - Mumbai

Doctor is good but beware of his assistant doctor Seema from Jaslok. She is extremely inexperienced and casual. Dr Boman did not bother to check the prescription written by Seema and a very essential drug was missed out as it was supposed to be a combination therapy of Ribociclib and Faslodex. Finally Dr Boman just walked out of the patient room when he came to know their mistake and the wrong combination was given for almost 6 months. Gross negligence but this is all very difficult to prove. Jaslok also is a terrible hospital but in South Mumbai that is the only option for cancer. I used to travel every month from Singapore to meet him for my mother and wait til 2am and 3am so a bit about my experience so you can make an informed decision and make your experience less hard. They all supported the inexperienced assistant doctor Seema and I lost my mother. Pray others do not face this situation.

Dr Boman Dhabhar is the finest medical oncologist in India. The humility, the knowledge, the expertise is hard to match by any other oncologist in India. My mother is under his treatment for many years with recurrent cancer and its only because of him that she is here with us. He also has BND Onco centre which is an amazing organisation and I pray to god everyday that he is recognised through national award in oncology field for his service to patients and their cause. His dedication and caring attitude is something to learn for all of us.

Dr. Boman is the best cancer expert in Mumbai. I visited him couple of days back for my fathers treatment. The arrangements at his consulting Center are excellent. There was no crowding and I felt very safe from the corona pandemic point of view. Doctor spoke to us for a good 30-45 mins discussed extensively the treatment options and also the outcome. I am extremely satisfied.

Dr. Boman Dhabhar is the best medical oncologist in India. His knowledge to address the Cancer patient is excellent and such an humble Dr. who gives us hope and comfort to face this sickness. His tireless efforts to support Cancer patients is unmatched. I got treated under Dr Bohman for my cancer, got detected and He gave me one advise which stuck my heart ‘ live one day at a time’. His sense of humour is excellent which makes us soo distressing during such times. Also thank you BND onco center who are so considerate to give treatment to all category of people. God forbids that any one should have cancer, but due to some reason if you have this sickness, it’s worth it to get treated under Dr. Bohman I had strongly recommended to my friends who stays at Singapore also, who took 2nd opinion with Sir, and he was so satisfied with the outcome I pray all the best wishes to Him. Dr. Boman Dhabhar is an excellent oncologist. He works tirelessly to ensure that the patient is well taken care of, and that we’re acting with a sense of urgency given how destructive cancer can be. His years of experience come to light in the day to day decisions that he makes and how he navigates a patient’s situation. It’s clear in those situations that knowledge alone is not enough, experience is what makes the difference between a good and great doctor. My mother was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. She trusted Dr. Dhabhar with every aspect of her care, and wanted to hear his opinion before any other doctor’s when needing to make decisions. He built the trust of my entire family through my mom’s journey and worked to ensure that all of us felt well equipped to navigate my mother’s condition. Despite him being extremely busy, he always makes time for his patients. You can always get a hold of him over a phone call no matter the time of day. He understands how important it is to be there not just for the patient but also the caregivers of the patient as they are trying to navigate the disease. He does a great job in making you feel like a partner in the situation, and not someone that will be unable to understand the situation. There were times when my mom just wanted to vent about how she felt for what she was going through. Dr. Dhabhar stood by her and listened to her, and respected her need to vent and release. This is not something he needed to do, but felt important to do to be there for his patient. This kind of integrity that is hard to find in a doctor. He was open to and encouraged getting second opinions from various doctors. He joined zoom calls when we did second opinions. His goal was the best care for the patient. He put his ego aside and focused on the goal at hand which is treating the patient. His low ego and humility was heart warming to us where we knew we were in the right hands. His wife, Mrs. Dhabhar, works tirelessly alongside him. She manages his operations and works with you to ensure that you can always schedule an appointment with Dr. Dhabhar, and answers any questions you may have. It’s not easy to support a doctor who’s time is so demanding from his patients. It’s clear that Mrs. Dhabar is a selfless partner playing an equal role in ensuring that Dr. Dhabar can successfully treat as many patients as possible. I would recommend Dr. Dhabhar to anyone in need of an oncologist. He’s a true gem and someone we are so very grateful to have found.

Dr. Dhabar is experienced for sure, but we had to wait for a good 7 hours in the hospital (6.30 pm-1.30am) for about 15 mins of his time. Total disregard for the time of his patients. My mom is a patient of Stage 4 breast cancer and during our consultation all Dr. Dhabar did was tell us all sorts of muhavare (phrases) like "ye toh lambi race ka ghoda nahi hai" (Your mother isn't in it for the long run), "we are running in a lost race", etc. I understand the severity and urgency but expressing medical opinion by such frivolous and insensitive ways is unacceptable and unprofessional. He insisted on chemotherapy quite a bit, although it wasnt the only option and didn't let us know of other choices available to us. Never going back to him. It was a waste of 7 hours of my life.
