After visiting 6-8 psychiatrists, I found Dr. M.k Zaman page on Google. After I visited him, I was surprised to see his understanding on the subject. I had spend years living with wrong diagnosis, and Dr. Mk Zaman helped me to not only understand my problem, but more importantly how to bring myself out of it. His counselling skills are exceptional. Thank you so much Doctor.

He is the best psychiatrist in India I am very satisfied with his statement ,I am an IT professional , my sleep was disturbed , I was not able to concentrate in my work and my confidence was very low, I used to be very sad most of the time and was getting irritation very shortly when I interact with my friends and family members. After treatment of two week I am feeling better now.

Apologies for the a really long review but this one is very close to my heart and still hurts me. Maybe I just had a bad experience. Consulted him fir Schizophrenia, he gave one antipsychotic (a certain dose) and then afterwards when we reported side effects (hand movements), he prescribed pacitane which as I understand it is pretty much the standard ( of course I am not a doctor but basically I had read everything available under the sun fir Schizophrenia including published medical journals about different anti psychotics but of course I understand that doesn't make me qualified). When I told him about bad side effects ( body being very lethargic, patient very calm basically just alive without any enthusiasm and all the personality traits gone as of the the drug was so heavy and the patient mind was so fogged), instead of changing the anti psychotic (risperidone), he increased the dose of pacitane and kept increasing it which caused an endless cycle of side effects. Also I am not sure he even understands schizophrenia. I specifically told him that the patients is not violent and just has some delusions and has shown no intention of harming anyone. We all know the case of mental health in our country. I had spent so much time convincing patient's family that patient will get better with medicine and it will be fine, no one will be harmed. He on the other hand started scaring the patient's family with stories like that the patient in one of their delusion might attempt to kill you even though we were very clear that the delusions weren't at all violent and actually minor but instead of actually making the family understand that it's just a disease like fever, he talked as if we should be scared of the patient which really breaks my heart. If our own psychiatrists start treating/thinking about patients this way then how are common folks gonna react. This whole incident has made me very adamant on being very vocal about mental health. Mental health isn't just about depression which has somehow become so popularized in our culture but several other illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar where patients are almost always misunderstood, feared and sometimes beaten and called crazy and other names. Not everyone is fortunate enough to be in a loving family who understands this. Anyways we consulted another psychiatrist who after listening to the side effects changed the anti psychotic (lurasidone) which after reading a couple of papers I understood that the patient was treated with high dose of risperidone so that explains side effects.Note I had asked Dr Zaman on multiple occasions if we could reduce the dise or change anti psychotic so of course he didn't listen and kept asking to visit him every 15 days to undoubtedly charge 1000 fees(went on fir 3 months) This makes me so angry as I put my faith in the doctor. I was with the patient throughout this whole ordeal and I saw with my own eyes what happened during risperidone overdose and after changing medication. Patient was very much back to normal with minimal side effects and minimal dose of pacitane. I still get angry at myself for not getting a second opinion sooner. The patient was starting to look like a zombie (alive but barely there) just eating, sleeping not doing much. So, of course j felt compelled to share my experience as I don't want anyone to ever experience such an ordeal. Sometime patients aren't competent enough to say what they're feeling but doctors should know better.
