★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sir is the best surgeon. He is very much practical in his field. He doesn't believes very much on reports but he checks patient's capacity, which is the best part. As in our case, my father had covid and had been advised that he would required mobile bipap machine life long and also would face difficulty in breathing but sir has examined and said that no such thing would happen. This develops different level of confidence in our heart which is the most important thing that is why he is "the best cardiac surgeon". Sir has performed "Aortic valve replacement surgery" on my father at "Breach Candy Hospital" and he had an excellent recovery and he was discharged absolutely fit and fine.

He is very meticulous as well as strict ensuring the peer staff complies to his high standards and timings. But sensitively handled the patient.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My uncle Viren Narkar was diagnosed having 5 serious blockages in Angiography on 8th January 2021 at Holy Family Hospital by one of the most reputed Cardiologist Dr. Yash Lokhandwala. 5 serious blockages were detected at critical places and was advised bypass asap. We did not not know any Heart Surgeon in Mumbai. So many relatives and friends recommended many names. One of those was Dr. Honnekeri. When we met him for the first time, we were fully convinced that he is the right and best. He made us feel very comfortable by explaining everything.
He operated my uncle on 18th January at Breach Candy Hospital giving him a new life. He is the most professional Doctor in India. My uncle considers him as an Angel sent by God. My uncle is feeling very good today after just 6-7 weeks.

About a month back, an Angiography revealed that my mother’s heart had blockages in all the three arteries – two were a 100% blocked and one was 80% blocked. She needed a Bypass Surgery at the earliest.
My mother is a Renal Carcinoma patient who has undergone a radical nephrectomy, is surviving on a single kidney and is on oral chemotherapy medication now for about eight years. Subsequently, she underwent a massive rotator cuff repair arthroscopic surgery for her shoulder. She also has a sizable incisional hernia protruding at the site of the Kidney surgery that causes intestinal and bowel loops obstruction on and off. And more recently, she was infected with Covid and needed intensive hospital care for a fortnight as her lungs were affected. Post Covid, she was also diagnosed as being diabetic. The single functional kidney was a major concern for the bypass surgery as the same could entail immediate dialysis and raised the risks of several associated complications that could prove fatal.
We were referred to Dr. Sandeep T. Honnekeri and received excellent testimonials about him from other doctors and his past patients. He does the surgery from start to finish. He does a beating heart surgery using mostly mammary arteries which means that the grafts have a longer endurance and this technique ensures a faster recovery for the patient due to its non-invasiveness with the limbs and the veins therefrom.
In view of her complicated medical history, we chose Lilavati Hospital which is a Multi-specialty hospital that has the infrastructure to deal with any contingencies that might arise.
Thankfully, the surgery went about smoothly and was successful without any requirement for damage control of my mother’s renal condition.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We met Dr. Sandeep Honnekeri for my Dad's Bypass surgery, as he is known for using arteries only from inside the chest for bypass ie the LIMA and RIMA arteries - because these last much longer than those from hand and leg.
My Dad was a complex case as he had a 100% stenosis in the LIMA and everybody opined that in dad's case surgery could not be done using only LIMA and RIMA
Dr Honnekeri saw our angiography and agreed to do the bypass with only internal arteries.
He explained everything to me and my Dad in a very clear manner . He was also kind, friendly and ensured we had a smooth prep, surgery, and follow-up. I am so glad I chose him for my Dad's surgery

He excels in bypass surgeries using grafts from mammary arteries that have a much higher longevity & faster recovery compared to grafts from limbs.
Bypass Surgery LIMA-RIMA was performed in Nov 2021.
My dad (Non-diabetic, 53) was diagnosed with multiple full and partial blockages and was recommended a bypass surgery at the earliest. After considering all our issues, including the monetary factor, Dr. Daruwala got us in touch with the "best surgeon there is" (in his own words). We scheduled an appointment with Dr. Honnekeri at Kikabhai Hospital where he heard our case in-depth, checked our angiography & politely explained all our queries and procedure.
He carefully studies every case before the operation and comes prepared. Post-op, he has his set of protocols for treating the patient, which the nurses strictly abide by. The recovery was fast, and my dad was discharged within a week. Today, he's walking comfortably, like any other healthy person, and back to work as usual.
