My father had been a kidney patient and was under the treatment of Dr. Ambike for over 6 months. His creatinine levels were in the range of 7 to 8. My father started facing problems due to water retention 3 months back and his condition started getting bad. Dr. Ambike recommended to get him admitted to the hospital and keep him in ICU for 2 days then move to normal room for 3 days. The planned stay was 5 days during which his dialysis would be started.
As per the recommendation, we admitted my father to the hospital and was in ICU for 2 days. During that time, dialysis was started and his condition was stable. However, the water retention problem was still not resolved. Dr Ambike confirmed that water retention will be resolved after 2-3 dialysis. The problem however did not resolve as Ambike had guaranteed. He was moved to a private room after 2 days and the initial 5 days also passed but the belly water did not reduce. Doctor did not pay much attention to the ascites problem and it never got resolved even though we asked him to look into that problem carefully during his daily visits. They just kept doing dialysis and also did an operation to put a tube in the neck for future dialysis, this was done when the patient condition was not the best. Ambike got specialists to do CT scans, colonoscopy and all other tests but did not find any cause of ascites. Finally doctors tried taking belly water out using injection (almost after 20+ days) but that was very late. During this time, fathers health kept getting bad and finally he had to be moved again to ICU and on ventilator. After trying for a few days in ICU, I lost my father. What was supposed to be just 5 days stay ended up being 25 days and lost my father.
The doctors carelessness cost us life of my father. I would never recommend this doctor.
