the temple itself is so good.i was disappointed that we were not allowed to take our mobiles and cameras into the temple....after going up into the temple we realized taking photos isn't important when you can get a peace of mind with that cool breeze and quiet place ?

Maintenance was very good. Free food facility for all the devotees. Seperate sections for all sevas. But be careful in terms of money. If can carry Pooja saaman from your home or outside temple please carry them. It is very commercial place everything runs with paying extra money.

We have visited this three months ago. We have travelled around 200 kms to reach here. We can visit this on different transportation. Once visiting is done suggest to visit prakasham barrage and enjoy Krishna Ghat. And finally don't leave this place without tasting Andra food.

Temple is well maintained but the people working are very rude and ask money for everything which is free. Actually they dont ask they order for money. Kanaka Durga Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Goddess Kanaka Durga. The deity in this temple is also popularly referred as Kanaka Durga. The temple is located in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India on the Indrakeeladri hill, on the banks of Krishna River. Kaalika puraana, Durgaa sapthashati and other vedic literature have mentioned about Goddess Kanaka Durga on the Indrakeelaadri and have described the deity as Swayambhu, (self-manifested) in Triteeya kalpa. It is said that the growing menace of demons became unbearable for the natives. Sage Indrakila practiced severe penance, and when the goddess appeared the sage pleaded Her to reside on his head and keep vigil on the wicked demons. As per his wishes of killing the demons, Goddess Durga made Indrakila Her permanent abode. Later, She also slayed the demon king Mahishasura freeing the people of Vijayawada from evil. At the Kanakadurga temple, the enchanting 4-foot-high (1.2 m) icon of the deity is bedecked in glittering ornaments and bright flowers. Her icon here depicts Her eight-armed form -each holding a powerful weapon- in a standing posture over the demon Mahishashura and piercing him with Her trident. The goddess is the epitome of beauty.
