★ ★ ★ ★ ★ there is one place to be during Durga Puja, it is Kolkata. The City of Joy is at its creative best with theme pandals and surreal lighting.
This year is no different. The star attraction being Lilliput and Gulliver from the unforgettable Gulliver's Travels by Jonathan Swift.
FD Block Durga Puja Committee in the Salt lake area has made the story come true for the devotees and the pandal hoppers.
FD Block Durga Puja Pandal has been done up for children and for those who miss the unbridled happiness of childhood and would love to relive those days.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I found the hype surrounding this Puja to be terrific and quite rightly so. Children will enjoy the display of liliputs and their town which seems to be taken from the pages of "Gulliver's Travels". Overall a very innovative arrangement and display which is definitely worth a visit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This year the theme is Jungle Book. Lighting is beautifully done. Liked the emphasis on audio creating a vibe of jungle. Staff is there providing hand sanitizer sprays and ample space is there so as to maintain social distancing. Parking is made available quite far though, around 500meters. Maybe there was a parking nearby too which I was not aware of. Ample food stalls are there so you can grab a good meal.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The 2021 puja of FD Block is in a smaller scale. Looks like an English manor with the idols inside. Tiles placed on the grass outside should prevent muddiness in case of rains. Adding photos as on 10th Oct morning

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good Durga Puja pandel for pandel hopping during Durga Puja. The themes of this puja every year is unique. If you come to visit Durga Puja in Kolkata this is must one. It is must visit when you go the Salt Lake area. Try to visit in the morning hours if you want to avoid traffic. But in night with the lights it looks magnificent.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing Durga Puja, Must visit place for All Pandal hoopers. There are few Special puja mandaps in Salt lake, like BJ block, AJ block, Karunamoyee Abason and this FD block. To visit FD block one can take an auto from Kakurgachi and reach FD block. If someone is coming from Kauranoyee crossing, then turn right towards Central Park and it will be om second Island. It is adjacent to Pouro Bhaban. It has a huge Ground where the puja Pandal is made. The Entrance is quite wide and big to stop over crowding. Also the Exit is on other side of the Pandal helping smooth Exit of the Darshanarthis. There is always police posting to help a smooth darshan experience. Few years back it made toy land depicting the story of gulliver's Travel which was a great hit and spot of attraction for the kids and young generation. Also around 20 years back it came into limelight due to a huge Durga idol made stand outside the pandal. Almost every year the organisers try to come UP with something different and has always been able to attract Pandal hoppers from across Kolkata and ots suburbs. The car parking facility in here is also very good and one will not face any issue with their 2 or 4 wheelers. So please visit this mandap for sure.
