For 6 years I have been a friend of El Shaddai. From the very first time I visited, my life was impacted deeply by seeing the lives of children being transformed by the love and care of everyone involved. Children have a childhood. Awesome!!

WE decided some years ago to Sponsor a Child. We Had Chosen El Shaddai because WE SAW from the very beginning how worthy The Work of El Shaddai IS. After some time The Wish to visit our sponsored child got Stronger. During The Second visit there was a possibility to do some voluntary work. This experience was awesome. WE already are Planning some voluntary for 2019! IT Changes your Attitude and With every laughing face you get Back so much .WE can recommend El Shaddai and a voluntary Job very highly! Make a lifechanging experience!

I’ve definitely left a piece of my heart in India after such a life changing experience. Everyday was filled with so much love and gratitude thanks to all of the amazing children. Life has been so cruel and unfair to them, yet they are so resilient and have so much love, happiness and gratitude to give. It really puts things into perspective. El Shaddai is much more than a charity, it’s a family. Their motto is β€œLoving, Caring, Sharing” and they live by this, it’s inspiring. I planned to volunteer for 4 weeks with the charity but ended up staying 8 weeks, (I’d probably still be there if it wasn’t for my visa coming to an end), it was such an amazing experience. The charity does so much incredible work, they have over 400 children from disadvantaged backgrounds in their care. El Shaddai gives these children protection, a home, food and education, ensuring they have better opportunities for the future. The children are so appreciative of the life they have with El Shaddai. Many of the staff have been in El Shaddai’s care when they were younger and it is incredible to hear first hand how devastatingly different their lives would have been if it hadn’t been for El Shaddai. During my time volunteering I helped out at various day care shelters, playing with the children, teaching them, distributing food to the homeless. I regularly visited the local slums to help with the community outreach support the charity provide. Teaching the children living in the slums, encouraging parents to allow the children to attend the day care shelters so they have somewhere safe to go whilst their parents go out to work. Raising awareness and funds at the flee market and visiting the children in the care homes. I ran self esteem workshops for the teenage girls with the school counsellor too. The volunteer coordinator is great at getting you involved in as much as possible to make the most of your experience. The staff dedicate their lives to caring for the children, it’s inspiring. The management really appreciate feedback from volunteers, they were proactive at responding to things i felt could be improved. The host family I stayed with were so welcoming and made me feel part of their family instantly. It’s really hard to put into words exactly how amazing the charity is. I highly recommend getting involved to support El Shaddai, whether that’s by volunteering, donating or sponsoring a child. It’s such a worthwhile cause, I will definitely be back to see my El Shaddai family soon :) siobhan

I first volunteered with El Shaddai in 2002 and was really impressed with the way it was run and the love for the children that the house parents showed to the children. I volunteered with my wife again in 2003 and 2004. In October this year I went back to Volunteer with El Shaddai and the charity has grown and become better. The non formal school is fantastic and the love and dedication that the house parents show to the children is amazing.

The children are being taken good care of and are being provided with good nutritious food and basic requirements are being met. A good place for children to bloom and they are being nurtured well.

The organisation starts from the grass root and the impact is visible in all the children. The staffs are very much experienced and they build a rapport with the children as well as their parents. The programs and projects of the organisation are impactful as well as innovative. The one month as an intern made so many insights and great memories. Kudos to the whole team and especially to Julia Ma'am and Mathew sir in maintaining and improving the organisation day by day. God Bless ?
