At our Epoch Elder Care homes, we offer mainly short term rehabilitation and care for the elderlies after injuries and trauma (these could be limb loss or amputation, fractures, including multiple fractures to the long bones in the limbs and fractures of the hip, spine, or skull, traumatic brain injury, spine injury), diseases and conditions that can cause loss of mobility function (these could be arthritis, stroke, multiple sclerosis), surgery or prolonged treatment for other diseases or illnesses that can cause loss of function (these could include chronic pain, severe infection, cancers - including chemo- and radiation therapies, cardiac arrest, diabetes).

My mother has Parkinsionism and I thought Epoch elder care was a sensible option as we live outside India. My mother was there for one night and I was charged INR 40,000. I had signed the contract on the evening of 14th march but my mother was feeling traumatised by the experience and I couldn't leave her there. We left on the morning of 15th March.
I was shocked at the absurd amount they charged me as penalty!! I was told that since I was given the room, they said no to a prospective 'customer ' . When elders become customers there is no heart in the care organisation and it's a business deal. It's a niche market to pray on emotions of vulnerable families who have limited options when it comes to parkinsonism, alzheimer and dementia care.
I also want to point out that if I wanted I could stop the cheque but I want to be above board. I 'hope' the organisation has a conscience and its not just another business.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Epoch Eldercare is good. I have someone from family staying there. They have been very good. The staff is very caring and loving.
By far the best you can find in the country, or at least i can say Delhi.
Yes they are expensive as are other places that don't even have any medical person on board even though they claim so! My family has tried out other places before.
I also want to add that i have noticed elderly people staying there are all happy. There was one lady whose family was from Canada. She was also with them there in Canada....but for some reason they put her in this place. She was traumatised not by the place but by the fact that she felt that the family had deserted her. She used to be almost always crying but the staff was very gentle and loving towards her.
I don't know what happened to her as i don't see her there anymore.
Trauma can be for any number of reasons.....
