★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Parents of DPS East, read this! While you wait for to pick up your child, walk into this magical forest off the beaten track. A walk through any forest is a natural relaxant, but this one is special for a very botanical reason.
This is a Eucalyptus grove, and Eucalyptus is one of those "allelopathic" tree varieties --- meaning that it secretly lets out bio-chemicals that destroy other tree species. That's why Eucalyptus forests are often a mono-culture. Nothing else grows there --- or is allowed to grow there.
Not this Eucalyptus grove. Apparently some tree species have found a way to survive the onslaught of deadly Eucalyptus chemicals. See the photos. I could spot a pongamia, a teak, a cactus, and --- I think --- a rosewood, a gulmohar, and a sandalwood.
