Fabcafe by Fabindia - Vasant Kunj - New Delhi

Wonderful ambience.. great food

Visited yesterday night with family. its a fine dine place (so called). When we went there we could not find the place so easily, no valet parking nor cafe parking, when we reached again no sign there was a security guard seated with his shoes off and legs up talking on the phone, when asked for direction he just looked up and pointed up and showed 3 fingers. We reached the restaurant, no one to greet we were trying to figure out, usually in a fine dine place someone is always there to greet and take you to your table, but here I think fab cafe is uneducated and does not know what fine dine means. The cushions on the chairs were dirty and half off the chair. hair on cushions and dirty sofas. Finally we got the menu, printed in b&w and inserted in plastic sheets and 2 given to 4 people. Food quality was good, but the plates in which we were trying to eat as we could not put quantity required due to the shallow flat plats which were small in size, not fit for eating main course, no side plates provided, only a spoon and fork for silvers, when asked for pickle (which was nice by the way), the server got the pickle but no spoon to serve had to ask for it. Finally when it came to payment of bill I observed that they added a service charge of 10% plus a tax on it. When I asked the manager what this service charge is about? He said since this is a fine dine place for their service the collect service charge (which is totally illegal, if you do not want to pay please ask them to remove it and they have to take it off. They can only charge for food according to the services they offer and not separately for services which they anyways include when they charge exorbitant amount for the dishes). So the manager went round and round and finally when I pinned him down asking him if this was a tip? He said "yes" and then offered to remove it if we don't want to pay?!!! After we finished paying no one let us out, we found our way out and walked by the security guard whose leg was still up and was still talking on the phone. I think they should take off the fine dine tag and make it normal restaurant. They did one more thing which is really ridiculous, they had a fully lighted wall with their products put up there for sale AND they put one of their sealed bottle of biscotti on every table as advertisement, when we asked if this was complimentary they said it was chargeable. which fine dine does that? THIS IS NO FINE DINE and yes quality of food was good, but they don't know how to cook, their turmeric roti was not fully done and same with parathas. its like you eat the food and don't know whether to say its good or bad or ok, it leaves you frustrated! I am definitely not going there again!

Disappointing experience. (Disclaimer: whatever they did serve was quite tasty). Most of the items on the menu were not available. The coffee maker was on the blink (I think no business that does not serve coffee should call itself a Cafe). The decor was very old school. And not really what you would expect in a fab india store. Not wonderfully enjoyable. And pricey.

It's such a cute little cafe, with a menu that has popular food made with healthier ingredients. I love the food. During the lockdown, we explored quite a few dishes on their menu. Today I happened to be in the vicinity at lunchtime so I indulged in my all time favourite...papdi chaat and I love their version of the papdi made with kuttu, jowar and bakra (no maida)! I wish there was a Fab Cafe near my new home.

Excellent quinoa salad and black coffee. Service speed can be better. There were more than usual delays with only a couple of tables being served. Taste wise, loved it. The ice coffee is something that's not for the generic crowd so might make sense for them to let the guest know. Indian cold coffee crowd is used to the frothy milky cold coffee ;)

Yummy food. Love the options available. Tried Hydration Glow drink. Verrry refreshing. Tried Quinoa Jhalmuri and Multigrain papdi chat

The food was so healthy and delicious. There is so much good options for vegan and health conscious people. Ambience is beautiful and peace. Nice place for spending quality time with loved ones.

Fab Cafe is fab! Brilliant earthy interiors with amazing food! So many healthy options and vegan options too. Top fav: Beetroot Siders Quinoa kathal biryani Spinach Corn Dimsums This place just calms you in every sense.
