Very old temple. You can experience the positivity. The God is famous for warding off fears, negativity and ghost/entity related issues. Must visit.

The “Gali Anjaneya Temple” is one of the most sacred temples of Bangalore located on the Mysore Road. The temple was built by Sri Vyasaraya of Channapattana. It is believed that Sri Vyasaraya (Hindu Saint) established this temple in the year 1425 AD at the convergence of two rivers – Vrishabhavathi and Paschimavahini. It is perceived that the idol of Lord Anjaneya was found in the open (‘Gali’ meaning Air in Kannada), hence the name Gali Anjaneya. There is also another probabilty that since Anjaneya is also known as ‘Vayuputra’ or the son of ‘Vayu,’ the wind God, hence the name. One can see the tall Rajagopura (temple tower) at the entrance and pay respect to Lord Ganesha and Venugopala Swamy (Lord Krishna). The temple also offers prayers to Sri Ram Parivar and Sri Satya Narayana but the main attraction being Sri Gali Anjaneya Swami, who is seen facing the Ram Parivar. The temple priest Vasudeva Bhattacharya, who is pursuing his PhD on Lord Hanuman said, “The west facing idol is smeared with sinduram (saffron) and probably this is the only ancient temple in south India where the Lord is smeared in sinduram. The end of Lord’s tail is seen with curls denoting that the Lord here is “Santha Swaroopi,” meaning saintly and there is a small bell tied to the tail which is the signature of Saint Vyasaraja when related to Anjaneya idols”. He also added that “The uniqueness of the Lord here is the mustache and the ‘Yathurmuki’ nature which means that the Lord is facing the devotees directly with both the eyes. The Lords’ left hand is seen resting on the hip and holding the lotus flower and his right hand is in abhya mudra offering the quality of ‘Nirbhayathvam’ to all the devotees”. Thus the temple is known as the place where all evils are destroyed owing to the death of Ravana’s son Akshasura (also known as Akshyakumara) in the hands of the Lord. The ‘Tayita’ or the sacred thread is offered to all devotees who seek it, it is said to prevent and free them from the possession of any ghosts or evil spirits and also as a symbol for the Lord to fulfill their desires. The lemon is also empowered after reciting the mantras and seeking the Lord’s blessings, the lemon is said to indicate an evil spirit and at the same time prevent people from its harm during its presence. The Shree Chakra present at the temple is said to bring the ghosts in a Mandala or a sacred enclosure where they’ll be in a ‘Digbandana’ or restricted from movement beyond the enclosure and thus by reciting the mantras and due to the Lord’s blessings (Hindu way of exorcism), the ghosts would be sent back to their world or purified. Apart from the ‘Poorna Kripa Dristi,’ complete protection from the Lord, this temple is also famous for the ‘Car festival’ that is held for over hundred and twenty years at the temple. Marking the power of the Lord from demons to angels and to cars, this temple has popular amidst the local crowd and especially for the ones who believe in the traditional method of ridding themselves from psychological pressures or possessions.

No Archana is done but they take Archana pooja items for rs 100, no peace to pray for 10sec just pushing, no prasadam also, even though there is no rush may be because of that only people are not coming even in Saturdays

Very old temple for Bengaluru and true to faith. This Hanuman temple is very powerful and the atmosphere inside is very serene. They give “Thaaytha” here that helps in keeping jinx at bay. After almost a decade, I visited for New Year 2022. The crowd was a lot because the New Year was on a Saturday. We took ₹50 special darshan ticket for which we got sweet prasada on top of regular prasada at exit. Had a pleasant darshan and proceeded to take the thaaytha. Paid ₹15 for it. After wearing it now I’m feeling secured.

The place is filled with positive energy. It is considered as the most powerful God and i have experienced it myself. Just go and pray wholeheartedly for the betterment of your life if you are too stressed on something or you are facing any problem which you feel like there is no solution to it. I bet you will take home peace of mind if not the complete solution for your problem. Getting into the facility of parking, most of the time getting place to park is a true challenge as its the main road and a very busy road.
