Gandhiji Municipal Corporation High School - Vijayawada

In the year 1900, at the height of the independence struggle, the jazz was chanting to Gandhiji, who was leading the national movement in earnest! The Church of South India (CSI) in Bejawada One Town has kindly handed over ten acres of land and building to the Municipality free of cost for poor children. Gandhiji Municipal High School was established here in 1914 under the name of Gandhiji in the spirit of nationalism. Gandhiji Municipal High School is a replica of the brilliant architectural skill. In the style of the British rulers, the building was erected in the shape of an English letter 'U' facing the fort. The building, which is made of car stone and limestone, is dazzling as the wood has not been scattered for hundreds of years. At that time education was going on till 12th class. In Nandigama, Krishnajilla, only Gandhiji in One Town had the opportunity to study up to 12th class. Until 1986, education was taught here up to 12th class. Later the primary, secondary and higher education systems were dismantled and limited to the tenth class. Being a twelfth grade level, the school has enormous lab assets. There are still ancient skeletons and animal remains. The high school, which is currently run by 500 students, has been running in Telugu and English mediums since 1993. Municipal high school has the highest level of student passing results. However, for some time now, Gandhiji Municipal High School has been moving towards realizing Gandhiji's dream of setting up a special women's college on the upper floors of the high school and giving women education and equal rights to women. Many dignitaries who have studied here: Many of those who have been educated in this school are dignitaries, while others hold key responsibilities in higher government departments and in private employment. Former Chief Minister and famous film actor NTR studied 11th and 12th classes here. Former Deputy Chief Minister Koneru Rangarao, Kanchi Rama Rao and former Vijayawada West legislator Jalil Khan were educated here. This high school is credited with providing other political geniuses, businessmen, social reformers, lawyers, judges, doctors, IAS, IPS and geniuses. Prizes Achieved by Students- Awards: Apart from studying, the number of prizes won by the students studying here for high school in various competitions is also significant. The hundreds of silver cups they achieved stand as symbols of due glory here. The Bejwada team won the football award in 1915, the ring tennis awards in 1946, and many other awards at national and state sports events are still preserved in glass cases. Huge House-Meeting Venue: A playground for athletes, not just academics. Gandhiji Municipal High School is the venue for meetings and conferences held in the city. For more spiritual activities, rituals, sacrifices, weddings, political gatherings and government functions were held here. Gandhi Park: Gandhi Park has also been set up overlooking this high school.
