★ ★ ★ ★ ★ श्रीगणेश हे हिंदूंचे आद्यदैवत असून सर्व कार्याच्या आरंभी त्याचे पूजन अत्यावश्यक मानले गेले आहे. गणपती ही केवळ ज्ञान व बुद्धीची देवता नव्हे, तर ती शौर्याचीदेखील देवता आहे. म्हणून या पुराणोक्त एकवीस गणेशक्षेत्री गणेशभक्तांनी, त्याला प्रसन्न करून घेण्यासाठी अनेक वर्षे उपासना केली आहे, असे सांगितले जाते. श्रीगणेशाच्या कृपाबलाने ज्या ज्या देवतांना, असुरांना सिद्धी प्राप्त झाल्या, वरदान मिळाले असे मानले जाते. त्या प्रत्येक ठिकाणी त्या त्या उपासकाने गणेशाच्या स्मारकरूपात मूर्तीच्या स्थापना केल्या. सर्वात महत्त्वाचे म्हणजे इतर कुठल्याही देवतेची पूजा, आराधना गणेशाने केली, असे कुठल्याही पुराणात संदर्भ आढळत नाहीत. म्हणून गणेश ही देवता सार्वभौम वर्णिली गेली आहे. तसेच सर्व देवादिकांनी, थोर संतांनी, अनेक गणेशभक्तांनी, गणेशस्तवन करून अखंड शांती मिळविली, मात्र गणेशाने कधी कोणा देवतेची स्तुती केली अथवा कोणा देवतेची स्थापना केली किंवा वर्षांनुवर्षे तपश्चर्या केली, असे वेद-पुराणात कोठेही वर्णन नाही.

Most importantly, there is no reference to any other Goddess, worshiped by any other god like Ardhana Ganesh. Hence Ganesha has been described as universal. There is no description in the Vedas-Pura, as well as all the devotees, great saints, many Ganesh devotees, have achieved unbroken peace, but Ganesh has either praised any deity or has established a deity or done penance for years.
