So Serene and calm it was. Since we visited in March there was absolutely no crowd there. The people are also very good and helpful

Calm quite place for visiting where ganga river meets the bay of Bengal beach is good though cleaning necessary and too little food shops n hotels so off season visit is really good

This is my 1st time visit to Ganga Sagar. I have visited during makar Sankranti. Huge crowd came across from different stats of India. Not only that people from Nepal and Bhutan are available here. But thanks to govt. Of West Bengal and police to manage this type huge crowed. People are maintainining line to get their vessels or bus. Here is route . Go to Sealdah railway station .1. Board train tolakshmikantapur . From lakshmikantapur to namkhana local . Deboard at kakdwip station. 2. Board namkhana local which is not frequent from Sealdah. 3. During mela time bus available from babughat to directly kakdwip lot no.8 From lot no.8 board vessel and go-to kachuberia. The main entrance of Sagar dwip. Then one can board a bus to kapil muni ashram. Many temporary ashram are available for stay.

Ganga Sagar Mela , perhaps one of the largest Pilgrimage festivals in INDIA. May be its the second after The "Cumbha Mela " .The People from all over India come here for taking holy bath . I have been there with my family between 11.01.2019 and 12.01.2019. The Govt. of West Bengal has made a fantastic arrangement for the people who visit here. Before ,I had a thought that it's very tough journey as we say " Sab Tirtha Bar Bar , Ganga Sagar Ak Bar" . But after the visit I could say , NO those days has gone. you may have many Times during your Lifetime as per your desire. The Safety and security provided by WB Govt. is commendable, Unless you visit once. Also the Indian Railway provide great arrangements during this time. It is needless to mention that "Bharat sevashram Sangha " Plays a big role here. I had an opportunity to spend a night here . Its a great experience . I must say , everybody should take a chance to Visit during the "Gangasar Mela". You will have a great Voyage over the Bay of Bengal from Namkhana to Banuban of about 1 hour. The Namkhana Local runs from Sealdaha Station throughout the day. Also one can avail the Root From Kakdeep Lot NO 8 to Sagar Mela Route. But as Per me, the Namkhana - Banuban Voyage is Inexplicable and a great journey in my Life. .................. Thanks for your Time.............

The place is neat and clean. The serenity and freshness is awesome. But amenities are very limited. Only one govt. Lodge is available. Three Dharmasala are available here. Some cottage by local people are also available. One Motel of govt. Of West Bengal is under construction. Some PWD BUNGALOW and PHE BUNGALOW are there which can be available from specific authority by prior bookings. Being a separate delta from mainland only vessels and launches are available from Kakdwip and Namkhana ferry service to reach here. It is a confluence of river Ganga and Bay of Bengal. But the tides are not agressive and big enough. During winter seagulls available here and it's enjoyable. During Makar Sankranti huge rush of devotees makes this holy place very important destination for devoted Hindus.

You would have heard about ' Sare teerath bar bar Gangasagar ek bar' because initially it used to be difficult to reach there. Now if you plan ahead and note few details you travel there easily. I would share my experience which might be helpful for you to plan. At first reach Kolkata by any means. From there you can travel to 'lot no 8 parking(ferry ghat or harbour)' or other port ex: kakdwip. Ways to reach there by car or bus there no direct metro. I took car from my hotel to lot 8 parking at early morning 6.30. Start your journey as early as possible if you are planning to return on same day. It takes around 2-3 hours to reach depending on traffic. From you have to go through ferry to the other side of ganga, tickets charges 9rs per person. Time duration 45mins. Don't panic ferry will be crowded. Last ferry operates at 6.30pm from both the sides. After reaching there again you have to travel 30km to reach Kapil Muni Ashram. You can easily get taxi or bus. They will take you till parking point from there it is walkable distance to Gangasagar or can take erickshaw. Take a holy dip there and visit kapil Muni Ashram. Extra charges here : people around Gangasagar will charge 20rs per chair you utilise. 10rs for changing inside tent and other expenses in case you want to buy anything or do any worship there. After Kapil Muni Ashram come back to parking right opposite there are multiple restaurant to eat. We went to 'Dipti Marwadi' staff was friendly and food was yummm. After lunch you come back through same route. You can plan to stay there, evening time temple will look more beautiful as it will be fully lightning. There are ashram near parking to stay. We came back same day and took ferry around 4pm. Other info: Initially there used to be 3 temple now there is only 1. Remaining two are submerged in Gangasagar. All the best and happy tourism

Not suitable for above middle class person. Poor accommodations option. Poor basti area. No atm service only one Sbi and ubi atm but nonfunctional. No Resturent only local shops for food. No fuel station. Morning 5:30 am boat service for 4 wheelers. Nothing special to see or visit or click

Good experience as an adventure drive to ship n transfer to Ganga sagar. Not any HiFi hotel or restaurant even no atm is functioning people shopkeepers and hotel not accepting any upi or card only cash
