★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visiting the Durga Puja was a shock but more so would say it was saddening considering how the eastern culture of Durga Puja has been overshadowed by the northern influence of Saffronization
Being from the east I cannot imagine a Durga Puja pandal without the myriad food stalls offering mouth watering non-veg and veg food. Mutton Cutlet, Fish Pakora, Ghugni , Mutton Biryani. The culture shift was saddening as Mutton Cutlet was replaced by Potato Cutlet, Fish Pakora with Aloo Fries, Ghugni by Chole , Mutton Biryani with Soya Biryani
At this state, the cultural identify of few will be erased out because of the way the government is handling the situation. In India you cannot just say that this is right and this is what you can do. As one of the largest democracy I feel this is a threat to the very identidy to which I can relate more.
