★ ★ ★ ★ ★ १९५५ मध्ये सहकार महर्षी कर्मवीर भाऊसाहेब हिरे यांनी सुरू केलेला गिरणा सहकारी साखर कारखाना म्हणजे मोसम गिरणा खो-यातील सहकार चळवळीचे प्रतीक मानले जात होते. १९९७-९८ पर्यंत अत्यंत वेगाने फिरत असलेली गिरणा साखर कारखान्याची चाके हळूहळू गैरकारभार, व्यवस्थापक-कामगार यांच्यातील वाद या सगळ्यात गुंतू लागली आणि कारखान्याला उतरती कळा लागली, ती कायमचीच. कर्जाच्या ओझ्याखाली सापडलेला गिरणा अखेर १९९७ मध्ये अवसायनात निघाला.
The mill co-operative sugar factory started by Sahakar Maharshi Karmaveer Bhausaheb Hiray in 1955 was considered as a symbol of the co-operative movement in the seasonal mill valley. From 1997-98, the wheel of the mill, which was spinning at a very fast pace, gradually became involved in mismanagement, disputes between managers and workers, and the factory went into decline, forever. The debt-ridden mill finally went into liquidation in 1997.
