★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good furniture, of course, but the service, one you've bought and paid, is completely disrespectful of the customer; they promise it would be delivered and assembled in two days flat, but take five days to deliver and dump it outside your door. You're made to sign the delivery at this point, and you're expecting them to assemble it that day or next.
There, they just STOP.
They do not take calls for two to three days, they do not call, and the technician, who'se supposed to assemble it, might as well never have existed at all. You call, and call and call, for several days. If anyone takes your call, you get excuses and advises to try calling technician.
If you need the furniture, try another store with a better service, and if you buy godrej, don't sign delivery until the item is assembled and placed in your home. If they promise delivery and assembly, avoid it. Bring your own truck and cart away the item you pay for, load it before you sign payment. That may be the only way to buy here successfully.
Hopefully IKEA will galvanise godrej and other garbage-service stores into actually working. Or drive them out.
We had sworn, after a very bad experience with a recliner, several years ago, to not buy godrej afain. Sorry we went and bought another item, recently.
We needed it urgently, and thought they couldn't mess it up. We stand corrected.
Our desperate need is not their problem, even though their item is paid for by us several days ago, but was delivered several days after it was promised, and now stands outside our door in a cardboard package, for last few days, after the very late delivery.
Are they expecting bribes? It's unclear. It after all was never a government office of several decades ago, but a private business that depends on quality of items sold as much as on service. Are the workers deliberately trying to give godrej a bad name, and if so, why? Conspiracy against Indian business by enemies of India? We don't know. We just know our experience has been that of extreme unprofessional behaviour on part of this store.
