One of the most famous tourist spots in Patna. Golghar is a masterpiece of ancient construction that used to be storage of the grains in those times. The structure is huge and unfortunately, we can’t climb the stairs. The surrounded area is converted to the garden which is a perfect evening gateway. Evening time is the perfect time to visit this place.

I loved it. One of the best historical tourism place for visitors. Rather than Golghar you can enjoy here in golghar park, and in the evening around 6pm there is laser show which you can watch free of cost.?

Golghar is a historical place, the top of the Golghar has been closed, there is a sitting chaupal where you can relax, pure drinking water is available here. And there is a baby swing where children can enjoy the swing. Here is 10 rupees to come in, you can roam for as long as you want.

According to a contemporary inscription at its base, the Golghar in Patna was intended to be just the first of a series of huge grain stores. In the end, however, no others were ever built. The granary was "part of a general plan … for the perpetual prevention of famine in these provinces". The beehive - shaped structure was designed by John Garstin of the Bengal Engineers, part of the East India Company's Bengal Army. Its construction was completed on 20 July 1786. A drive to improve the appearance of the structure was begun in 2002

During the Gupta Dynasty grains were stored in this huge granary. This is historical place located to the west of the Gandhi Maidan in Patna, capital of Bihar state, India. Visitors cant climb to the top because of permission denied. While we went to see the ruins of Nalanda we were also fascinated by the granary. At the top you can view entire Patna city.

Looks well maintained and peaceful. It is a must see location for visitors both from the state and outsiders. Enjoyed some time inside. Good play area for kids. Must improve maintenance. Lazer show has been stopped it seems as the facilities remain in bad shape
