★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The city is famously known as Queen of Lakes. Dams, Canals & Lakes are the attraction points. Thus sheltering huge species of birds, reptiles and mammals. Gondia is a popular tourist destination with several sightseeing places. The most prominent tourist attractions are Nagzira & Navegaon National Park. The destination is a treat for wildlife and nature lovers, with a famous wildlife sanctuary located at Nagzira covering core and buffer with corridor areas.
I, as nature lover, love to explore remote places of Gondia. I had visited Shiv Temple belonging to 15th century located at village Nagra, Mandodevi Temple (temple inside cave) with huge statue of Lord Shiva on Rock is a treat to watch. Kachargad Caves with tribal (adivasi) peoples, Tibetian camp, Hazra Fall with train passing from tunnel is worth watching place. Visited various dams namely Chulband, Pujaritola, Kalisarad, Bodalkasa, Chorkhamara, Kawlewada, Navegaon Bandh, Itiadoh Dam and many more.
I along with my NGO friends Mr. Kanhaiya Udapure and Mr. Shashank Ladekar explore many places and watch species of birds, reptiles and mammals. These Guyies are friendly and have very good knowledge of flora and fauna. In short they are our google about wildlife and nature. We together watched many birds and animals specially Sarus Crane and wildlife safari.
Gondia is blessed with many lakes, dense forestry and many ancient sites & is a must visit place for nature and wildlife lovers. A must visit place for people who shoot with their lens. One must fall in love with the nature and dams of Gondia.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Undoubtedly Gondia is a best place for those who adore scenic beauty and lovely birds. It was one of the best trips we ever had.Upon our arrival Mr.Kanhaiya gave us a warm welcome and it was a fantastic start. He was extremely good , flexible and knowledgeable right of the bat and gave additional information about Gondia and the birds.
We watched sarus Crane and many more awesome places .
On the whole Gondia is excellent spot for bird watching.And our guide was watchful, enthusiastic and clear...Great job and fantastic spot !
