★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nagpur City has the history of 300 years plus when it was the capital of Gond Rajas Buland Shah Baksh. Nagpur was one of the major centre with capital even during British regime. The present Mayo Hospital came into existence in 1862 and was known as "City Hospital". A medical school was started in 1914 in that hospital and was under Nagpur Education Board. It was named after Mr.Robertson the then Joint Commissioner of Central Province. School was conducting L.M.P. Diploma Course. At that time there was no Medical College for higher studies and the students of Nagpur had to go out for Medical Education. Nagpur became the important centre for education by establishing Nagpur University in 1923. C.P.Berar Government had made arrangement for higher medical education at G.S.(KEM) Medical College, Mumbai and Nil Ratan Sorcar Medical College, Calcutta. This facility was available only for 10-12 students every year and many students could not make it. Hence there was constant demand for independent Medical College in this region.
Government Medical College and Hospital, Nagpur was founded in 1947,is located in Ajni which is part of South Nagpur Maharashtra, India The college was affiliated with Nagpur University from 1947 to 1997, and subsequently Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashik.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ No doubt doctors are best ......but management other than doctor are very rude and kaamchor.....they act like a owner of the hospital...even cashier are misspelled, during receipt generation....Garibo ke paiso se hi ghr chalta but unse hi rude behave....

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a very old govt medical hospital and college. Facilities are getting improved day by day. This hospital is really good for poor and middle-class families. Doctors are polite and helpful too. In every organisation, some flaws are there due to few none working people but you can ignore that. Rest everything is good.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is amongst the largest and best hospitals in the Maharashtra, which provide treatment to people of all classes. It has one of the largest campus among all the government medical colleges. It has the best facilities available in very cost effective basis, starting from trauma patients to MDR/XDR TB patients, in various departments. It has its own and prosperous blood bank, along with ICU for emergency paediatric patients and separate OT wards to carry out various critical-type surgeries. ????

All kind of medical treatment available here with free of cost.
My personal suggestion are need more cleanliness here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Infrastructure and Personnel:-
Worst infrastructure in such a well known hospital. You have to maintain patience to have few words with doctor. Patience in the sense keep your self respect aside, tolerate all those personnel there who are not willing to help you but they will never miss any chance to insult you.
Night Shift:-
In night time it even gets worst, I found that a lady has been referred to the Sonography Ward No. 86 at 10:00pm in the night of 23rd September 2021,and Now it's 6:03 am in the morning but no doctor is available here. The employees available are in sleeping mode. Even the security personnel are sleeping in night shift.
Hygiene and Cleanliness:-
If we talk about hygiene and cleanliness, I must say it doesn't exist in Government Medical College & Hospital, Nagpur. I don't know where the money of taxpayers is being invested?..
Most of the toilets are flooded with urine and no action has been taken on that. Many of this toilets are broken. Just near to the Ward no. 22 we found that there is worst scenario about cleanliness.
You can find dogs are allowed to visit inside hospital such a "animal friendly" environment.
Conclusion:-
There should be a feedback form which should be mandatory to fill about services of all the Hospital personnel.
It is a place where, they made you realize that you are the common people and you born to suffer.???
