While speaking about the progress of the Mumbai Fire Brigade Commissioner mentioned “four new fire stations will come up in Mumbai in a period of four months.
The newly built fire brigade will cater to the needs of Mulund, Bhandup, Kanjurmarg and Vikroli east.
Speaking about the need for the new fire brigade station Prabhakar Shinde, Leader of the House raised the issue of the Mahanagar Gas, he said,the Mahanagar Gas is supposed to lay the pipe lines one and a half feet below the ground but they lay it at the height of one or a half feet and near to the MSEB cables which is always a danger. And because of improper laying in 74 places the fire has taken places and to fight such repeat fire incidents there is a need for fire stations in each stations.
