Could not visit to the top as the cable cars doesn't allow less than 10 year olds. The cable cars are for individual seating and some had broken safety locks too. Didn't look safe even for adults. People can climb to the top but extremely strenuous with the very hot climate..

The place where lord buddha gave seromans to bimbisara,& also at this place he preached some of important sutra. This is a small trek but when i was close to top a person stopped me that he is a police person & he don't allow any bihari person (his argument was local people don't understand the importance of the place & consider it as picnic spot)to go to the peak.so,please be prepare to deal with such people.

I feel awesome here. I feel like home. So peaceful, beautiful and the most holy place in Rajgir. It has so much of history related to Buddha and Buddhism. Buddha spent some time here in few caves, and Buddha used to give sermons here. Bimbisar, the king of Magadh changed his religion here, he was converted to Buddhist by the Buddha himself. In dwapar yuga, Jarasandh was the king of Magadh, It is said that after loosing numerous wars to Shri Krishna, He started worshiping many Gods and as a result many of the Gods appeared here in Rajgir ( Rajgrih as per history). You can still feel the presence of Gods here in Rajgir, And this Vulture peak and the surrounding has extreme positive energy. I would recommend to explore this place alone. Someone wrote in review it is a challenge to walk to Gridhkut. I ran and reached here, you have facilities to reach the top and prices are fair. Rajgir small footpath sellers keeps prices low and equal, so don't indulge in discussion of you are buying something.

Gridhakuta is a hill located at Rajgir, Bihar where Lord Buddha carried out many dialogues with his disciples after he achieved enlightenment. It is the place where Lord Buddha started his second helm of commandment and preached many inspiring teachings and sermons to his disciples. Gridhakuta hill is also known as Vulture’s Peak. It was at Gridhakuta hill that Lord Buddha gave his two significant sutras the Lotus Sutra and the Prajnaparamita. But beware of beggars and swindlers who try to sell you different religious items from rosary to prayer flags. Also, do discourage child begging as these children will never grow out of this habit. Religious trip shouldn't come at the cost of ruining child's life. I always stay away from child beggars.

This is one of the most ancient sites where the Buddha is said to have preached his Lotus Sermon. Quite true to the meaning of its name as Vulture Peak indeed the peak appears as a shape of vulture head with a natural stone formation. The place is also referred as “Gujjhakut” in Buddhist text. One of the most ancient sites where the Buddha is said to have preached his Lotus Sermon was amongst the favorite meditating place of the Buddha. Even today one can feel the deep sense of spiritual power at the peak that is devoid of any man-made grandeur. A statue of the Buddha (600 BCE) was found here and currently housed at Archeological Museum of Nalanda. The view of the surrounding forest land and the path leading to Ghoda Katora Lake adds to divine experience to the visitors.
