Sri Venkataramana Bhajana Mandali was started in 1991 by a few members of our GSB community in Vasai Road under the leadership of Shri P. Annappa Kamath, an enthusiastic sincere and hard working member. This was started with an intention to unite our people under one banner and one platform and to bring spiritual/social /devotional awareness, togetherness among our GSB community people in particular. The initial activity of the organisation was weekly Bhajan at the houses of GSB members every Saturday / Sunday turn by turn. This helped in uniting the people and in knowing the people of our community who have come to settle in Vasai Road, a fast developing suburb with an intention to have their own dwellings. After two years, Late Shri Manjunath Shivaraj Nayak and family offered a place at Sri Niketan free of cost to conduct the activities of the organisation, till the organsiation has its own premises. Late Shri Manjunath S. Nayak, and Late Shri Upendra shenoy were the senior members of the community who used to guide the members and encourage the activities of the Samiti.
