★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The most difficult part is finding a place to stay in amritsar. If you have made that far then it's recommended to reach the gurudwara before dawn. There will be a queue, a rather long one, so be prepared to stand for 3-5 hours. The gurudwara is quite serene and peaceful although you may not be able to stay there for too long due to the crowd. Also before making your way out don't miss the langar.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A Historical Sikh Gurudwara sahib Related to Shri Guru Ramdas ji. very calm and peaceful worship place at Amritsar sahib. This place have the first holy pool of sikh religion. Very big holy pool and big Gurudwara campus. I am feeling blessed after visiting this place.

History
When Guru Ram Das, had not yet ascended to the gaddi, he came here to find out a place for excavation of the holy tank on instructions from Guru Amar Das. When Guru Ram Das was getting the place dug, he found a Yogi, meditating.
After sometime the Yogi opened his eyes and told Guru Ram Das that he had been meditating here for a long time, waiting for a Guru to give him salvation. He disclosed his name as Santakha and then breathed his last. The tank was then named as Santokhsar.
Guru Arjan completed the unfinished work of excavation of tanks - Santokhsar and Amritsar. Baba Buddha was appointed to supervise the work of construction. Santokhsar was completed in 1587-89.

The gurudwara has historical importance as its realted to guru teg bahadur sahib ji. Darbar hall is beautifully built on 1st floor & has a large langer hall also. One can also park their two wheeler in gurudwara campus while visiting golden temple complex
