Hoarding Park is a historical park. Harding Park, built in honor of the Viceroy, who played an important role in making Bihar a separate province, has been built for more than 100 years. After years of neglect, its appearance has now been refined once again. Harding Park hosted the Prince of Wales in the year 1921. Spread over 22 acres of land, this park was opened to the public on 31 January 1916 by Sir Edward Gate, the then Governor of Bihar and Odisha. Then the fountains were adorning the beauty of this park adorned with greenery and flowers. Along with Patna, this park was also a main attraction center of Golghar. The then governor of the province also unveiled a five-ton bronze statue of Lord Hardinge, prepared by the eminent British sculptor Herbert Hampton, in London. But, over time, like other sites reminiscent of colonial times, Harding Park fell into disrepair. After several protests, the statue was removed from the park and placed in the Patna Museum in the late 1960s. It was reinserted in the 1990s on a platform in a corner of the museum's garden. Brief information about Lord Hardinge has also been given in the plaque near the statue. Now one arm of this statue is broken and it is standing like this. The park has seen a lot over the past 100 years. The park, which has a golden past, was a silent witness to the freedom struggle and also saw the change after the colonial era. The then governor of the province also unveiled a five-ton bronze statue of Lord Hardinge, prepared by the eminent British sculptor Herbert Hampton, in London. This This park was named in honor of the Viceroy who played a key role in making Bihar a separate province. Many years later, this park was named after the hero of 1857, Babu Kunwar Singh, and a statue of Kunwar Singh, which was picked up from R-Block, was installed there. Although the old people still know it by the name of hoarding park.
