Some cakes are exceptionally too good n creative making eg.. Gulabjamun jar cake etc...
All available with reasonable price and their after sales service is also good

I wanted a customised cake for my Mother's 85th birthday and had posted a request in this group. I got a huge response and had finalised a cake with Hemangi Shah from "HEM The Cake Shop" at kandivali. I had ordered a cake with chocolate and caramel layer and had specified that the caramel should ooze out while cutting the cake. It was supposed to have cream outside with a self design as per the picture that she sent. She also suggested Fondant flowers on top. I agreed and sent her a picture only for flower arrangement and mentioned that "Happy 85th Birthday" shud be on the cake and "Mummy and Granny" all around the cake on a silver board. I also told her to send me a picture of the cake before delivery. BUT SHE DOES NOT DO THAT.
I could not be at the Venue on time so my niece took the delivery and we did not open the cake box till 10 pm thinking that the cake will be as specified. We received a smashed cake which seems to have slid to one side while delivery. I immediately sent pictures to her. She then replied back with a picture of the cake intact that she sent and refused to accept that a smashed cake was delivered to us. Then she said that we should have opened the cake on delivery.
My mother had to cut a smashed cake on her 85th birthday. Our surprise party was totally ruined because of the cake.
- I paid for a customised cake and what we received was a smashed cake.
- There was no caramel layer. Just a chocolate syrup on the layer.
- The base was not 1kg at all. The cream took all the weight.
- Instead of Fondant flowers I got cream flowers
- The wordings were not as specified
- I never asked for a border on the cake
- the one who did the piping on the cake did not have a clean workmanship
- looked like the cake was done by an amateur
- overall the cake was not presentable as per what picture she sent me of the intact cake
She never gave me a refund for the damages. So, if you anytime want to order a customised cake, think twice before ordering from HEM the cake shop
