Relocated to a new place with the same old taste, humble service and strikingly authentic bengali cuisine. A must visit place for people who are in search of delightful taste, the essence of East Indian food. I had some amazing fish and chicken starters and Bengali style biryani with eggs and potatoes adding to the authenticity. Strongly recommend!!

It is difficult to please a Bong when it comes to food and this is where Hilsas scores full marks. The narrow staircase leading to the second floor restaurant may not be convincing at first look but once you are there, it presents a homely and laid back ambience, so typically Bengali. The soothing music, the b/w graffiti decorated wall and the minimalistic furniture, immediately gives the sense that food is what matters here most. We were there for lunch and already had in mind what to order, so the QR code enabled menu was not of much use. We ordered Fish Fry, Chicken biryani, Mutton kosha and Luchi. Our request for disposable plates and glasses were promptly complied with. Everything that came to the table was freshly prepared. The fish fry was non greasy, the mutton was melt in your mouth, Luchis fluffy and biryani flavourful with 2 soft pieces of chicken, an egg and potato. The portions were amazing when compared to the price. Service too was reasonably fast. The passion of the owners was evident from the fact that they took profound interest in our feedback and also clarified all our queries. With Oh Calcutta! and Banani's Kitchen closed indefinitely, we Bongs should be thankful to have Hilsas. Such was our satisfaction with the experience that we planned to visit Hilsas again the next day. This time around we ordered Fish Fry and Boneless Purbhora Bhetki which were both awesome. For main course we had Mutton Biryani and Pulao Mangso Bowl. The complementary Mishti Doi and Tomato Khejur Aamshotto Chatni added to the already overwhelming lunch. The portions were such that we had to struggle to finish. So pleased were we with the experience that we decided to get some food packed for our journey back home but since we were to start from Gurgaon early we decided to approach the proprietor of Hilsas, Mr. Saptarshi Bhattacharya. To our great satisfaction, Mr. Bhattacharya offered to get the food freshly prepared and delivered to our place of choice early in the day. Our order of 6 plates of Biryani, Mutton Kosha and Fish Fry was made available by Mr. Bhattacharya himself around 10.45a.m. at the South Point Mall. The commitment displayed by the proprietor on this occasion lays testament to the passion to serve which is at the core of Hilsas. Such was the nature of the packing that not a single drop spilled even after the 9 hour journey back to Pali, Rajasthan. On reheating the food returned to its original state. We thank team Hilsas for making our Diwali Vacation lip smacking and one to look forward to in future. The soft spoken young Chef from Kolkata also deserves our praise for perfectly recreating the recipes.

After seeing so much positive reviews i ordered Mutton Biryani, but sorry to they provide only half container which not sufficient for a child. They provide 2 pieces of Mutton's bone maximum 20gm tasteless mutton there.
