About Himachal Tourism HPTDC Hotel Hatu
Till 19th century, Tourism in Himachal Pradesh was restricted only to a limited movement of pilgrims to a few spiritual destinations in around the hills. Only when the British established their chain of hill stations did tourism receive recognition in the State. Tourism activity received a shot in the arm when British declared Shimla “The Summer Capital of India” in 1864. Post independence, more investment in the infrastructure sector led to opening up of Tourism in the State. However the biggest boost to tourism occurred in the mid 80s and 90s.

β β β β β Rooms were a bit expensive compared to other locations of HPTDC hotels. The whole compound was being decorated for some marriage occasion and in total mess. The halls were messy with some marriage or other party. Couldn't even walk properly in the compound. If you are booking a room for 1 night with more than 4k, you should be able to enjoy the stay. If you are renting your hotel for other occasions, you should stop taking bookings for your rooms.

β β β β β Good location and views. A little extra maintenance is needed. On my request, bathroom and room was cleaned again. Bedsheets seemed to be used.

β β β β β Book this place only through HPTDC website or in person. Because other websites show 3 times more tariff. This is a good place for budget stay. Restaurant here is also good. You will get all basic amenities like quilts, room heater, geyser etc.
