β β β β β This is the main entrance gate to old karauli fort, the city was founded by Maharaja Arjunpal ji, a yaduvanshi kshatriya or jadaun ruler in 13th century which is enclosed by a wall of red sand stone, this wall have 6 big gates for entrance and exit and 12 small gates called as khirki's in local language Inside the gate market of karauli, Madan mohanji Temple, Rawal Palace or raj mahal of karauli situated . GANESH CHATURTHI MELA also organised on this gate as Lord ganesha murti exists on the top of gate. On this gate we can see old rajputana style arts,painting historical view. Now Hindaun Gate Is main entrance gate to market and busy route.
Other places for visiting in karauli are many forts like Timangarh Fort near Masalpur Town, Mandrail Fort near mandrail Town, Devgiri Fort on the bank of chambal River, Untgiri Fort, Bahadurpur Fort, Saportra Fort, Ramathra Fort, Narauli Dang Fort, padampura Fort, Fatehpur Fort , and many haveli's of jagirs and Thikana's like Ruppura haveli. There is Alligator(Ghadiyaal ) sanctuary in karanpur Town at chambal River, a waterfall Maheswara also situated near karanpur and kailadevi, Raj Raj Rajeswari maa kailadevi Temple also situated.
Near karauli city panchana Dam also a best attraction, and Maa Anjani Temple on a hill by the side of panchana Dam also best place for photoshoot.
And this city is in very peaceful environment and full of natural beauty with kailadevi wildlife sanctuary which is joined with Ranthambore tiger reserve.
