Divisional Offices situated in the West Bengal & North Eastern States (seven sisters) are controlled & supervised by it.
The Building was built in British era. Conveniently located at Kolkata's ever busy electronic spare hub- Chandni Chowk, the building has two parts: main & annexe.
Main gate of main building, just beside Chandni Chok Metro station gate, will land you at a spacious round shaped arena with high dome top. The white marble carved statue of Nalini Ranjan Sarkar, the pioneer of indigenous insurance business of pre-independent era is reminiscent of Sculpture & Architectural marvel of British era.
1st floor of the building houses City Branch no.19, 2nd floor is the abode of various small merchants, Railway Insurance Cooperative's office & Zonal Conference Hall.
Different departments of Eastern Zonal Office are there from 3rd to 5th floor. All these floors are modernised & well maintained, commensurate with the grandeur of the building & worthiness of Life Insurance Corporation of India.
The annexe building situated at back side of main building has 5 city branches viz., CAB, CBO-20, CBO-16, CBO-17 & CBO-21.
The Indian Insurance Institute & Life Insurance Employees' Sports Club is at 5th floor.
The Sales Training Centre (STC) of Kolkata Metro is at 6th floor.

But parking is an issue. Minimum parking fee per hour is 50 INR as was charged that day. Don't know whether that's the usual over there.
But it's a serious issue for sure.
