★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place can be a 5 star hostel! The location is super, the interior is great, but the experience and service is really bad. Here's some feedback that, should you choose to implement it, will make this a very pleasant place to stay:
- Are you allowed to use the kitchen? If yes, please buy a geyser, (really) should be possible with all the money that's being made. So that you can have your staff do other things than heating up pans of hot water for guest that request these for showering.
- It's not ideal that the staff lives on the hallway and that they don't respect the fact that there are still people sleeping or going to sleep. I'm talking about alarm clocks on phones that go off right outside your doorstep at 05:30. Conversations that are taking place at 23:30 at a level like it's 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Playing bollywood movies/music at these times as well. Please inform your staff that it's normal to be quiet because there are people sleeping or going to sleep between these times: 21:30 - 08:00 is quiet time.
- It is inappropriate to look on someones laptop unasked what he or she is working on.
- When the door of the room is open, don't peek inside while we're waking up and keep looking for 10 minutes.
- Have someone at the desk that speaks proper English. And there is another man at the desk that shouldn't ask, when you've just arrived, that you have to pay (I kid you not) 9 times in 1 minute. While not helping with the bagage and speaking no English, but that one sentence.
So as owner of this Guest House I would put time in training my staff so that it can be a 5 star place or change the price for westerners because this is not worth the 1200 rupees you're paying every night.
