I had bought the signature waterproof leather shoes from their store at Inorbit Mall Vashi. Even though the upper surface is well treated to remain waterproof, however, there seems to be issue with their soles. Water was coming in from bottom of the soles. This caused a lot of issues as I needed to take them off at work to dry out my sock being wet with dirty road water seeping in from the sole.
Since, all their stores claim they are centralized & everything is link via Mobile number & the store manager specifically mentions that there is no need to hold of to cash memo. Everything is linked to your Mobile number, just dont loose it(he jokes everytime).
So, I directly went to my nearest Hushpuppies Stores(Seawoods Grand Central Mall). The manager asked my mobile number & check the purchase details and confirmed it is eligible for repair/replacement. He took photos and said he will speak with the headoffice & call me back. To keep my visit accounted for I also register a complaint via toll free number. I got an email response asking me to visit Vashi Inorbit Mall Hushpuppies. Which I promptly did & also got an Store Manager's attestation on the email printout. I told the manager that the email by Bata instructs him to provide me a resolution, but he was adamant that it is only for visit. After that everytime I contacted Bata/Hushpuppies via Toll free number or Email, they would simply say that my Claim is under process & immediately I would get a fresh email response with a new Complaint number. This kept on happening every single time, which I couldnt understand why until I received an email qouting a fresh complaint number that I have registered claim complaint after warranty period, so nothing can be done.
So, bottom line is, Ironically, even though the top of the shoe is waterproof the sole is not.
And don't think of wasting your time trying to avail any warranty. I have done everything to be done including printing out the credit card statements of the purchase. Its of no use... When a big brand doesn't want to be honest, there is nothing you can do.
