This temple is the temple of Mahadev ji, it is a symbol of the faith of our Hindus due to it being the temple of Mahadev Ji, we always come here to see Lord Mahadev. If we sit in this temple for five to 10 minutes, then our mind gets very peace. We pray to Lord Shiva that to protect every human being, to keep every human happy always, no human should sleep hungry, that is what we expect from our Mahadev.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ichhanath means fulfilling your wish and this temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva wherein the temple has a big dome and is situated on the main road near Athwa Gate. Parking can be done on the main road on the side and is NOT a problem. The temple is famous as it is believed that any prayer / Wish is fulfilled after praying in this temple.
The Shivling is unique as it is below the normal ground surface and we have to climb down around 6 steps and there are 7-8 Asanas where you can sit in peace and pray. The surrounding of this circular 'Garbh Griha' has idols of Lord Ganesha, Hanuman ji and other Gods. On Monday, the temple is visited by many people there is lot of rush in the temple.
Ichhanath Mahadev Temple is a historic religious center in Surat and one of the oldest Lord Shiva Temple in the surrounding. The temple itself is more than 100 years old with a good architectural build.
As the name suggest the Lord fulfills all the wishes of its devotees as per the legend of this temple and remains a prominent attraction in Surat. The temple has a very calm and a serene atmosphere.
It can be very crowded on Mondays and also during the Shravan month and Mahashivratri festival.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Must visit place... especially on two wheeler at early morning..has glorious naturre and divinity over the surrounding and inside temple proper sitting arrangements with lord shiva status which is worshiped by peoples. There is a small lake opposite to the temple use by locals for their daily routines. Gives a pleasure Atmosphere overall with family as well as friends.
