★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ichhanath Mahadev Temple is a historic religious center in Surat and one of the oldest Lord Shiva Temple in the surrounding. The temple itself is more than 100 years old with a good architectural build.
As the name suggest the Lord fulfills all the wishes of its devotees as per the legend of this temple and remains a prominent attraction in Surat. The temple has a very calm and a serene atmosphere.
It can be very crowded on Mondays and also during the Shravan month and Mahashivratri festival.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ichhanath means fulfilling your wish and this temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva wherein the temple has a big dome and is situated on the main road near Athwa Gate.
Parking can be done on the main road on the side and is NOT a problem.
The temple is famous as it is believed that any prayer / Wish is fulfilled after praying in this temple. The Shivling is unique as it is below the normal ground surface and we have to climb down around 6 steps and there are 7-8 Asanas where you can sit in peace and pray. The surrounding of this circular 'Garbh Griha' has idols of Lord Ganesha, Hanuman ji and other Gods. On Monday, the temple is visited by many people there is lot of rush in the temple.
As we need to climb down 6 stairs to approach the Shivling, the place is not advised for people having problem in legs or are in wheel chair
