★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I visit here more often during my duty, it's a very calm n quite place with lush green environment. It is one of the oldest and largest drinking water treatment plant in kolkata. It has a legacy of its own. Entire Kolkata water supply depends on this plant. It is also known as Palta Water Works.
Nearest railway station is Barrackpore and Sheoraphuli. Many people come by train from Howrah to Sheoraphuli then cross the ferry (2paisar ghat) to enter from the main gate. It's one plant where Mrs. Indira Gandhi once visited during his reign, and stayed at the circuit house.
