At present, the institute offers Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech.) programme in the following disciplines: Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. This programme is spread over a period of eight semesters. The institute also offers M.Tech programme in several disciplines including Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the new iits . Canteen service is awesome . CCD is inside campus . The academic campus is near to old bus stand and very much near to Ropar (rupnagar) railway station . One can walk from both of these places.

library that remains open for 24 hours. Ropar has an air conditioned large central library. The computer centre is also well air conditioned and it remains open for 24 hours. Faculties are so helpful.... ?
You can do everything here... (Here you can grow your sports interest....????⚾???️)
The current campus of IIT Ropar has a cricket ground, football ground, hockey ground, badminton courts, basketball courts, volleyball courts, tennis courts and tables for Table tennis. ?
The equipments provided to the student are of the best quality and the students are guided by experienced coaches in each sport.??
IIT Ropar organises its sports fest AAROHAN evey year which involves a huge participation from the neighbouring colleges of northen India.????

It is one of the eight newer Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) established by the Minister of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India under The Institute of Technology (Amendment) Act 2011 to expand the reach and enhance the quality of technical education in the country.
The institute currently has 11 departments, 1 multi-disciplinary centre, and 1 DST Technology Innovation Hub.
The institute offers undergraduate programmes awarding Bachelor of Technology in various engineering areas. Admission to these programmes is through JEE Advanced. The institute also offers postgraduate degrees awarding MTech and MSc (Research) in various engineering fields, as well as MSc in basic sciences. PhD courses in various fields are also offered.
