★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Being a lifelong member (student, research fellow, visitor and finally faculty) I have had the ringside view of the institution. I would just say I had the most enjoyable experience as a student and research fellow. India has only a handful no of teaching and research places which can be termed as world class. Note that this is a whole experience, not in terms of only facilities or some other thing. ISI is one such place. The general level of teaching is several pegs higher than most places (including most IITs), comparing it the world standard. Mostly the teachers are actively engaged in research, which gives the flavor of modern topics in the course. If you're serious about academics, this is a place you should consider.

If you look from outside there is nothing special but when you enter to campus.
Really it is a great place to spent years for degree.
