★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I got off the Cityflo bus at an earlier stop as it would save me time. Spotting an Iyrngar Bakery on Senapati Bapat Marg I went there to buy something for my team members.
This is a small bakery full of products and an oven inside where they make their baked goods.
They have varieties of cakes both ones with icing and ones without icing.
Their display cases are full of colourful cakes and pastries and entice passersby to this tiny hole in the wall eatery in a key through fare of Lower Parel.
They have a large variety of cakes including cup cakes and cake rolls and also make and sell birthday cakes. I also saw sweet rolls.
They have a generic name, Bangalore Iyengar Bakery like all others of their kind. As they are at Mumbai, they should call themselves Mumbai Iyengar Bakery.
You can find those in their display cases. I bought half a kilogram of their Suji Cake which they sell for four hundred rupees a kilogram. I found this cake tasty and grainy similar to the Mawa Cakes Mumbai is famous for.
I also spotted the round flaky Dil Pasand pastry at this bakery, which I saw for the first time at Mumbai, though it is a common dish at Bangalore's Iyengar Bakeries.
Dil Pasand has sweet coconut shavings with Tutti Fruti between flaky layers of dough. The bakery employee told me they sell Dil Pasand at twenty rupees a slice and the whole one with eight at two hundred rupees.
I am now looking to spot the famous Dil Khush at a Bangalore Iyengar Bakery at Mumbai region.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Do try the rawa cake here :) very tasty. The only problem is sometimes they burn the edges of the cake. But overall it’s still very tasty.
