Near by cities are chikitigada, palasa and berhampur. Best time to visit on summer and winter. The temple is famous as paratha sarathy temple and is unique because Lord jagannath is worshipped in the form of Sri paratha sarathy, the charioteer of Arjuna and it is the only one of its kind.

So unless and until his Chariot moves first, Lord Jagannath's Chariot in Puri can't be moved on Rathayatra. People also believe that stammering can be cured if you visit this place.
