Sant Tukaram lived in Dehu. His temple is located on the banks of the Indrayani river.[3][4][5] This temple was constructed by his younger son Narayanbaba in 1723. A rock where Saint Tukaram was on fast is also here. Important Places associated with Tukaram in Dehu are: Tukaram Maharaj Janm Sthan Temple, Dehu – place where Tukaramji was born, around which a temple was built later Saint Tukaram Vaikunthstan Temple, Dehu – from where Tukaramji ascended to Vaikunth in his mortal form; there is a nice ghat behind this temple along the Indrayani river Saint Tukaram Maharaj Gatha Mandir, Dehu – modern structure; massive building housing a big statue of Tukaram; In the Gatha temple, about 4,000 abhangs (verses) created by Tukaram maharaj were carved on the walls.[6] Dehu is a census town in Pune district in the state of Maharashtra, India. Dehu is known for being the abode of Sant Tukaram. The Tukaram Palakhi heading to Pandharpur originates from Dehu in the month of Ashadh.

Shri Vitthal Rukmini Mandir is located in Dehu on the banks of Indrayani river. It is really a very good place of pilgrimage of the Vitthal/ Pandurang devotees. Mostly people cover Alandi were Shree Mauli temple is located and then they come to Dehu for Shree Tukaram Maharaj. The river Indrayani is mostly full of water throughout the year. They have also constructed Ghat means the stony steps towards river so we can enjoy the early Sunrise as well as sunset and take a bath in the river as desired. The temple is quite old and there is Idols of Shree Vittal and Rukmini along with the samadhi of Shree Tukaram Maharaj. There is one place where Tukaram Maharaj used to live and he was born. It is very old small house where again you can see the temple of Vitthal Rukmini and wife of Shree Tukaram Maharaj Jijabai. After crossing the road you can also see the famous Naduraki free which is from the Banyan tere family. The only difference is with the size of leaves which are smaller compared to Banyan tree. The newly constructed Gatha temple sculpted in white Marbel is also within 5 minutes drive. Do visit and take blessings of Shree Vithal and Rukhmini and Shree Tukaram Maharaj.

There are two main attractions in Dehu . One is the Vitthal Rukmini temple where the lord is believed to be Swayambhu ( self manifested ) and had appeared there for a devotee , who was from the family lineage where Tukaram Maharaj was born . The other attraction is the place near the Nanduraki tree from where Tukaram Maharaj went to Vaikuntha . There is a temple built for him here. It is believed that every year during the day when he left for Vaikuntha , the tree shakes violently at a particular time to signify the event. This is a must visit place for every Bhakta
